Pia Kjølberg (1967)

Pia, nasceu na Suécia, vive no sul da no sul da Noruega e estuda na instituto interdisciplinar de artes DTK. Projeta a sua curiosidade nos materiais, pessoas, natureza e contradições. Experimenta diferentes variáveis e diversas formas de arte. Frequentemente trabalha de forma rápida e intuitiva, sem almejar a perfeição. As suas criações artísticas resultam por vezes de um arranjo de coincidências. Desenvolve o seu trabalho artístico no espaço “ The Arthub” em Sarpsborg em colaboração com Britt Knoff.

Pia was born in Sweden but she lives in the southern part of Norway, in Sarpsborg. She projects her curiosity on, material, humans, nature and contradictions. She studies at DTK art school. She experiments with different variables and her works embraces several art forms. She often works fast and intuitively not seeking for perfection. Her artworks frequently become a result of orderly coincidences. She works with Britt Knoff at ” The Arthub” in Sarpsborg.

You will be in artistic residency at Fundação Bienal de Arte of Cerviera, soon. Tells us a little bit about your inspiration, Pia:

“Like a crystal of a memory in a forgetful mind In the Low Plast project I participate with the artwork “Like a crystal of a memory in a forgetful mind”. I have chosen a small beach area in Ytre Hvaler National Park, the first marine national park in Norway, to be the location where I collect the plastic waste. I wanted to investigate what kind of, and how much plastic I find in a place where cleaning the beach zone has high priority. My sculpture is a summary of words and its obvious contradictions. Crystal clear I Remember I Sustainable I Always”.
